The Kano State Government has pledged its full support to AREWA24 Television and its production arm, AREWA24 Productions, in establishing a permanent building complex within the state.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made this announcement during the 10th-anniversary celebration of AREWA24, a company launched in 2014 to provide high-quality, locally-produced Hausa language entertainment and lifestyle programming that reflects the pride of the northern Nigerian culture.
Represented by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor commended AREWA24 for its contributions to job creation and praised the station for its quality content and impact on the community. He urged the station to identify a permanent location within Kano, assuring them of the state government’s full support to realise this vision.
Governor Yusuf also called on the chief executive officer and management of AREWA24 to consider training staff from state-owned media stations to enhance service delivery and capacity building.

Speaking at the event, AREWA24’s chief executive officer, Jacob Arback, reflected on the station’s journey and future vision.
He stressed the ambition to transform AREWA24 from a local Hausa television channel into a Pan-African media company based in Kano.
“We would love to see Kano become the undisputable West African centre of media, entertainment, production and technology – just like Lagos, Johannesburg, Accra, or Nairobi,” Arback said.
