Kano health workers: Court fixes March 19 for hearing

The National Industrial Court of Nigeria, sitting in Kano, has adjourned to March 19, 2019 hearing in a case filed before it by the employees of Kano State Hospital Management Board against the state government.

The health workers were in court to seek for an order which will compel the state Head of Service to abide by the judgement passed in their favour on November 27, 2018.

The counsel to the workers, Laminu Bala said, “We filed an application for a committal order to be made against the Head of Service, Kano State for his failure to comply with the court order made on the November 27, 2018.”

It could be recalled that in a judgment Justice E. B. E. Isiele, ordered the state government to recall the affected employees back and refund their 27 months deductions made as a result of their deployment.

However, since that judgment, the Kano state government has failed to comply with the order of the court.

However, the case was adjourned because of the absence of the defendants.
