Operatives of the Kano State Hisbah Board in Dala LGA have arrested children wandering on streets and begging for alms and food.
The Commander of the Dala Command, Umar Bala, said the operation followed complaints from the neighbourhood about the children who didn’t go to school but were busy following vehicles and begging for money.
He noted that even the houses the children were visiting to beg for food were struggling to feed themselves and talk less of giving, which had resulted in some of the children stealing minor things they came across.
He said the command had engaged the parents and teachers of the children on the dangers of allowing them to do that without knowing who they might come across to no avail.
