The Kano State Hisbah Board has revealed that it will partner with TikTokers to sanitise their social media activities under its bid to curtail the high rate of social vices among the people using social media.
This was disclosed by the Commander General of the board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, during a meeting between the board and TikTokers in the state.
While noting that the meeting was aimed at changing the TikTokers’ focus on the use of social media from negative to positive, he said that the Kano State Government was planning to empower TikTokers morally and financially.
He said, “The government has reiterated commitment to support these people in four ways. Those that want to get married, the government will marry them off. Those that want to start business, they would be empowered with capital. Another group that wants to go back to school would be given scholarships. The last group who are depressed and have some health challenges will be counselled.”

Many of the TikTokers who spoke to City & Crime who noted that they were satisfied with the meeting, promised to change their attitude.
A TikToker, Khadija Mai Bakin Kitse, said, “I am very happy with the way Hisbah addressed us. I will Insha Allah stop what I am doing. As I am talking to you now, I am tired, I just want to get married.”
Another TikToker, who simply identified himself as NaAnnabi, said that as a dropout he wanted the state government to offer him a scholarship so that he could continue with his studies.”
The Hisbah Board thereafter gave each of the over 200 participants N2,000 as transport fare.
