The member representing Kiru/Bebeji constituency in the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, has mobilised 2,000 Imams and Ulamas in a special prayer session for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming elections.
The prayer session, which took place at the Jumuat mosque built by the lawmaker in his hometown of Kofa, Bebeji local government, drew clerics from across the region.
It was led by the immediate past National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) Chairman and Chairman of the National Islamic Intellectual Forum, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman.
In his sermon, Prof. Usman commended the clerics for their steadfast devotion and urged them to continue offering prayers for the nation’s leaders.
He described President Tinubu as the most capable choice among contenders and encouraged the faithful to support leaders who prioritise unity and development.
Speaking after the prayers, Jibrin expressed gratitude to the Imams and the clerics for their commitment.
He highlighted what he described as President Tinubu’s longstanding support for the North, noting that the president had consistently invested in the region’s progress.
He called on the clerics to share this message within their congregations, stressing that prayers and grassroots mobilisation remain vital for the country’s stability.
The event was followed by a large gathering at Jibrin’s residence, where he officially launched a house‑to‑house visitation for President Tinubu and Governor Yusuf, pledging to personally lead the effort.
According to him, the campaign will cover every part of Kano South and extend across the state in the coming weeks, with the aim of reaching every household.
Jibrin, who is seeking a fifth term in the House of Representatives, described the visitation as a grassroots strategy designed to strengthen support for APC candidates and ensure continuity in governance.
He said the initiative would not only spread the party’s message of progress but also reinforce the importance of community engagement in politics.
