Chairman of Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State, Tijjani Amiru Bilyaminu, has ordered the closure of Al-Hadeed Private School until further notice.

The closure followed the remand of one of the school teachers, Uncle Kamal, by a magistrate’s court, on allegations of sexually abusing four minor pupils.

The council chairman said the action is to ensure justice for the victims and suspect be made to face the full wrath of the law.

The chairman restated the resolve of his council to ensure that the rights of children are protected at all times and that violators of such rights face severe consequences of their actions.

The teacher was arraigned before a magistrate’s court on Monday for sexually abusing minors: 7 year-old Hassana, Hussaina,Gambo and their 5 year-old sister.

Prosecution counsel, Badamasi Gandu, told the court that doctors have confirmed that the children were sexually assaulted before the suspect was brought to the court.

The teacher was remanded in a correctional facility and the case adjourned to June 6.
