Kano LG launches marshals to fight crime

Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State has launched a security marshal group comprising 100 vigilantes and hunters to support the police in ensuring security in the area.

The Chairman of Kumbotso, Alhaji Hassan Garban Kauye Farawa, made the announcement during a stakeholders meeting on security in the area.

The chairman said each marshal was entitled to a monthly allowance of N20,000, and that they would be given motorcycles to help in making their job easier.

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, who was represented by the District Head of Kumbotso, Alhaji Ahmad Ado Bayero, said all traditional rulers in the area would contribute towards ensuring security in the area.
