Kano man remanded for stabbing neighbour with scissors

A Kano State Sharia court sitting in Unguwan Uku has remanded a man, Amir Sa’idu, in a correctional centre for allegedly stabbing his neighbour, Mukhtar Abubakar, with a pair of scissors on his forehead which led to Abubakar developing a partial stroke.

The prosecutor, Aliyul Abideen, told the court that after the incident, the victim developed several illnesses which later led to a partial stroke and that he was now receiving treatment in a hospital.

The suspect pleaded guilty to the charge and the judge, Nura Yusuf Ahmad, ordered that he should be remanded in prison until June 12, pending when the situation of the victim would be reviewed before sentencing.
