Kano State Government and Niger Republic have signed an agreement that would recommit them to ensuring the establishment of Niger-Kano Bilingual College in Niamey. 

A technical committee comprising the representatives of Kano State Government and Niger Republic met at Niamey where they came up with a document that could lead to actualization of the college. 

Niger-Kano Bilingual College was established in 2013 with sole aim of strengthening the mutual relationships between the people of Kano and Niger. 

Signing the agreement, the state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology who is also the Deputy Governor, Professor Hafiz Abubakar said that the partnership agreement review was on the responsibilities of the two governments as well as the measures to adopt in improving the college. 

He said Kano would take the responsibilities of constructing students’ hostel and staff quarters while Niger Republic will construct of classrooms, libraries and a computer center. 

In his remarks, Niger Minister for Secondary Education, Alhaji Mohammed Sani Abdulrahman said the document produced at the end of the meeting would lead to the establishment of the college.
