A leading northern football club, Kano Pillars, have unveiled Daniel Ogunmodede as their new technical adviser ahead of the 2026/2027 Nigeria Professional Football League season, which kicks off in less than two months.
At a media parley held at the club’s secretariat in Kano on Saturday, Ogunmodede, who also serves as assistant coach of the Super Eagles, outlined his vision for the Sai Masu Gida.
The 46-year-old tactician, who guided Remo Stars to a historic league triumph in the 2024/2025 season, promised to instill a philosophy anchored on discipline, communication, and an unyielding pursuit of victory.
“Winning is not negotiable in this project. We want to win. We are going to contest the Federation Cup, the League, the CAF Confederation Cup, and the Champions League. We will compete in all competitions. We will fight,” he declared.

Kano Pillars, one of Nigeria’s most storied sides, have endured turbulent campaigns in recent years, marked by crises and sanctions, including home bans.
Ogunmodede urged calmness and objectivity among supporters, describing unity as critical to the club’s resurgence.
“No one is an island of knowledge. I am approachable. My door is open for proper communication. I hate autocracy, but I love deliberation. If you have ideas that will benefit our club, talk to me,” he said.
He reminded fans of the consequences of past crises, noting that the club will begin the new season with two matches behind closed doors.
“We must avoid situations that lead to sanctions. Stay calm, positive, and objective,” he cautioned.
Ogunmodede’s dual role as Kano Pillars’ head coach and Super Eagles’ assistant adds weight to his project.
The new technical adviser is expected to hit the ground running, with his first training session scheduled for Sunday at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
