Kano Pillars’ search for self redemption will continue tomorrow when they take on fellow NNL side, DMD of Maiduguri in the 2022 Aiteo Cup round of 16 match at the Tafawa Balewa stadium in Bauchi.

The former Nigerian champions had defeated Zamfara United 5-0 in Round 32 while DMD defeated Housing Corporation 4-2 on penalties after the regulation time ended 0-0.

In other round of 16 matches, Nigerian Army owned club, Green Beret will attempt to arrest Niger Tornadoes at the FIFA Goal Project in Abuja while El-Kanemi Warriors slug it out with Wikki Tourists in Jos.

In Aba, Bendel Insurance will face Nasarawa United who lost in last year’s finals to NNL side, Bayelsa United in Benin City.

Lobi Stars who edged out Doma United 3-0 in the round of 32 in Jos will take on Akure Academy in Enugu, relegated Katsina United trade tackles with Sunshine stars in Abuja while it will be Heartland who sent Rangers packing versus Dakkada in Asaba.

 The remaining match of the round of 16 in Men’s category will be played on Sunday between former champions, Akwa United and Kogi United in Enugu.

Meanwhile, in the women’s category, Bayelsa Queens have reached the round of 16 without kicking a ball.

It was gathered that Bayelsa Queens walked over Niger Amazons to reach the next round after the latter confirmed their inability to honour the match.
