Preparations are on for the second edition of the prestigious Emir of Kano, HRH Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero Coronation Polo Tournament billed for the foremost Porto Minjibir Resort in Bichi Emirate later in the year.

A reliable source from the resort and Bichi Emirate Council told Polo Royals that though the final decision on the date of the second edition of the Coronation Polo Tournament has not been taken those involved have started discussions toward the fiesta.

“The coronation tournament was a huge success last year and people who want to be identified with the project are already making enquiries, so the organizers have started early preparations,” the source pointed out.

Tournament Manager of the Nakudu Polo Farm which is part of Porto Resort, Yakubu Nakudu would not confirm anything about the second edition of the prestigious event yet, stating that though plans to mark the coronation anniversary are welcome development, there is still time to make concrete confirmation.

Last August, the ancient kingdom of Kano celebrated one of its grandest moments as polo patrons, players and dignitaries turned up in their droves to celebrate the Emir of Kano, HRH Alhaji Aminu Bayero in a weeklong polo fiesta.
