The Country Director of Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA), Professor Sani Miko, has revealed that the Kano State Agro Pastoral Development Project (KSADP) jointly funded by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and Lives and Livelihood Funds (LLF) being implemented by SAA will redefine agricultural practices among farmers in the state.
Speaking during a green field day held at Gargai in Rano and Kura LGAs, the CD revealed that the green field day was organised to supervise how beneficiaries were faring under the project, as well as to interact with them and proffer solutions to issues arising.
He added that the five-year project was aimed at promoting agricultural activities along the value chain for economic growth, as well as to boost food production and livestock using best agricultural practices.
He explained that the targeted farmers would benefit from the project with a variety of intervention on all sectors the project covers.
Similarly, the Director, Administration and General Services of the Kano State Agricultural Development Agency (KNARDA), Hajiya Aisha Garko, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment in improving agricultural practices in the state, adding that it was high time the farmers took agriculture as a business and not a passion.
