A health expert, Dr. Faiz Sarki, has cautioned residents of Kano State against the use of counterfeit medications, warning that they can damage the body’s immune system.

Speaking during the re-opening of BF Suma, a producer of health and wellness products, in Kano, Dr. Sarki urged residents to prioritize their well-being by using natural and authentic medications.

“Many people were worried when the company left Nigeria, but Alhamdulillah, we have now successfully brought it back after extensive deliberations between the company and its investors,” he said.

Dr. Sarki, who also serves as an instructor with the company, acknowledged concerns raised by customers during BF Suma’s absence from the Nigerian market.

Health workers and residents expressed delight over the company’s return, describing it as a relief for many patients who rely on its products.

Dr. Ali Mujahid, a 52-year-old medical practitioner, noted that the absence of BF Suma left several patients, especially older people, struggling to find suitable alternatives.

“I have a patient with sickle cell disease who has tried many medications, but the BF Suma product is the one he always feels most comfortable using,” Dr. Ali said.

He added that conventional medications, which often contain more chemicals, usually only manage conditions rather than providing lasting relief.
