Alhaji Alhassan Abubakar Rurum, the father of the Speaker, Kano state House of Assembly, Alhaji Kabir Alhassan Rurum has died at 91.

The late Rurum died on Monday evening at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), after a protracted illness, the Speaker said.

Confirming the death to Daily Trust on the telephone, the speaker said “Alhaji is dead. His time has come and there is nothing we can do. We all from Allah and to Him we shall all return. Everyone is waiting for his time. May Allah forgive him.”

Hon. Rurum said the funeral prayer and the burial would take place in Rurum town, Rano local government area of Kano state tomorrow.
