Alhaji Ibrahim Garba disclosed this while inspecting the on-going second phase of the State Road-Waje Mosque triple-lane road project in the metropolis, saying measures would be taken to give enough room for the smooth execution of the multi-million naira project.   

According to him, no compensation would be paid for the demolished structures as they were erected beyond the legally-sanctioned building line.   

The commissioner also urged the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) to study the possibility of providing underground cables to replace a section of the overhead electric wires.   

Garba explained that this was necessary because there was no space to relocate some of the electric poles as well as prevent accidents.   

While appealing to Ibrahim Taiwo road-based business owners to exercise more patience over the inconveniences they are facing, he assured that the second phase of the project is expected to be completed in three months’ time.   

On his part, representative of PHCN Bala Muhammad assured the commissioner that they would promptly prepare cost estimates for the underground cable and forward same to him.   

Bala Muhammad stated that the work would be executed promptly because of the urgency attached to the early completion of the triple-lane project.
