With the most regrettable tragedy that has befallen Kano in the wake of the Boko Haram onslaught, the issue of security is of paramount importance to the Kwankwaso adminis-tration knowing that it is a Herculean task on the shoulders of a responsible leader to ensure that, he is up and doing security wise.
Starting with issue of crimes bursting, the state government saw the compelling need to renovate all the major streets light in all the nooks and crannies of the metropolis which had been abandoned by successive regimes with the attendant darkness posing a security threat.
With the security light constantly illuminating, agents of criminal banditry are now finding it a hard nut to crack as far as hiding under the cover of darkness to commit a crime is concerned.
Coming to the issue of house numbering and the streets naming, and identity cards projects being initiated by the government, one is compelled to believed that the nagging issue of insecurity would adequately be tackled, as the genuine identity of all residence would be established and the hideout of hardened criminals uncovered.
Governor Kwankwaso had told all those who cared to listen that his government has a good intension on the new policy he introduced as it was never aimed to offend anyone.
His laudable intension came to the open at the formal flagging off of the exercise which was well attended by ministers, traditional rulers, stake holders and the representatives of the ulama taking into cognizance the fact that it behoves the world to know that Kano is on pedestal of a sustainable policy of urban renewal which sought to do away with ramshackle structures.

The house numbering and the street naming is so important in the light of the fact that every house’s number plate according to the governor is sophisticatedly designed and given free of charge.
With governor’s com-mendable initiative the stage is now set for experts in organized crimes to know their fate as the security of every society is sacrosanct.
