Kano to convert Plaza cinema to hospital

Kano state government has made a provision of N100 million in the 2019 budget to convert the famous Plaza cinema into a maternity hospital to boost healthcare service delivery in Fagge local government and environs.

The state Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Alhaji Shehu Muhammad Na’Allah made the disclosure while briefing newsmen on 2019 budget breakdown.

Na’Allah said the 2019 budget was unique as it coincided with the state’s projected available resources as contained in 2019-2021 Economic and Fiscal Update (EFU), Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP)and Budget Policy Statement (BPS), which in-turn signified the present administration’s commitment towards realistic budget.

He said a sum of N38.31bn had been allocated to the infrastructural sector for the execution of various projects in the state such as the construction of modern abattoir and residential development of Emir’s palace at Kofar Kudu, Babban Daki and Dorayi.

The commissioner added that, to ensure quality and affordable health care services, the state was committed to massive construction, rehabilitation and upgrading of various primary health facilities adding that the sum of N17.78 billion had been earmarked for the provision of comprehensive and effective health care service delivery in the state.
