No fewer than 300 Kano state civil servants are to benefit from a training on human capacity development organised by the state government.

A statement from the office of Head of Service, signed by the Public Relations Officer, Mustapha Ibrahim Fagge, revealed that the training was organized under the auspices of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON).

Speaking at the opening of the 25th Batch ASCON Workshop and Examination for officers on GL 13 or equivalent ranks aspiring for managerial positions in the civil service, the Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad Auwal Na`iya said, over N16m was spent on the training.

The head of service said the objective of the programme was to equip the participants with basic managerial skills.

He said the participants were expected to be versatile on the rudiments of harnessing human, material and financial resources in their MDAs to ensure effective service delivery.

Na’iya said the ASCON programme had been yielding positive impact as evident in the increasing efficiency in policy formulation and implementation.

He urged the entire civil servants and public officers to reciprocate the gesture by re-dedicating themselves to duty and selfless service.
He thanked the ASCON for cooperating with Kano state government to make the programme successful. 

The Director-General ASCON, Mrs C.U. Gayya, represented by Dr. Tahir Abdu Fagge commended the state government efforts on investment in human capital development in the public sector.
