Kano trains 600 MSMEs to access loans

For street hawkers, the DG hinted that the Business Clinic guided over 2500 hawkers and MSMEs in the Federal Government/CBN Survival Fund application

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has trained over 600 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) through the Cottage Industries and Street Hawkers Directorate to enable them access bank loans.

In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar on Wednesday, the Director General of the Directorate, Alhaji Uba Danzainab disclosed this at an event in Kano to showcase the feat which he said was achieved within 11 months of its establishment.

Danzainab said the Directorate partnered with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN’s) Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) Micro Finance Bank and Development Finance Office of CBN to consolidate the idea of Business Clinic.

For street hawkers, the DG hinted that the Business Clinic guided over 2500 hawkers and MSMEs in the Federal Government/CBN Survival Fund application.

“The business clinic has so far registered over 25,000 active MSMEs in the state in which over 4,000 have been counselled and diagnosed by the consultant of the clinic free of charge.”
