Kano Coalition of Ulama and Islamic Organisations has donated food and non-food items worth N140 million to victims of the flood disaster that ravaged Maiduguri, Borno State capital.
The delegation, led by Prof Muhammad Babangida, on a sympathy visit to Governor Babagana Zulum in Maiduguri, said the donation was insignificant compared to the quantum of needs of people they saw in the state.
“The quantum of damage was unimaginable. Indeed, the people of Borno have faced a number of challenges, from Boko Haram insurgency, fire infernos, and now the flood disaster.
“If not for the good leadership of the governor, we don’t know what will happen in this state. It would have been worse. I urged you not to derail from the good things you are doing,’’ he said.
