A woman identified as Ilham Kabir Karaye has been arrested in Kano for conniving with her boyfriend to steal her fiancé’s car.

According to the state’s police spokesman, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the command received a complaint from the victim on July 12, and that operatives commenced investigation which led to the arrest of the suspect.
He said upon arrest, Ilham told the police that her fiancé was owing her N150,000 and was showing no sign of paying back, hence her taking his car in lieu of the debt.
She further told the police that she called one of her boyfriends to come and drive the car to his house pending when her money would be paid back.
Meanwhile, narrating what happened, the fiancé said the suspect called him and set a meeting point at Hauren Wanki after which she complained of hunger and demanded he bought her shawarma, which he did, and that it was when he came out from the shawarma spot that he did not meet her and his car.
Kiyawa further said Ilham’s “conspirator boyfriend” had also been arrested.
