Adebayo disclosed that the state government was worried with the development, prompting it to swing into action in a bid to provide adequate protection of lives and properties in the state during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

“The kidnap which failed is a terrorist act and the state government is concerned and has moved in, by working with the relevant agencies to make sure this does not happen again.”

“This is the first time this is happening in the state, so naturally people are worried, but you can see how it failed due to the quick intervention from the police, and governor Shekarau personally addressed me on this issue and has made it clear that the state government would not relax in providing adequate security in the state,” he added.

Kano State police command spokesman, Baba Mohammed Azare, said the state police command was well motivated and prepared to forestall acts from undesirable elements that might constitute a threat to lives and properties in the state, while calling on Kano residents to go about their activities without fear.
