A Magistrate Court judge presiding over the trial of traffic offenders in Kano metropolis has declared one Bashir Fagge wanted for absconding from his trial before the mobile court.

The incident occurred on September 2, 2025, when Bashir Fagge, driving a vehicle with registration number KMC 302 BD, committed a traffic offence by disobeying traffic control lights and signs. This is a violation of Section 16(4), (7), and (8), paragraph 12 of the KAROTA Law, 2012.

Bashir was subsequently summoned to appear before the KAROTA Mobile Court, located at the Ibrahim Taiwo Road by Gab Hotel junction, to stand trial. However, he failed to appear.

In light of this, the presiding magistrate directed that Bashir Fagge must appear before the court without fail on or before Tuesday, September 16, 2025. The court warned that his failure to do so will result in the issuance of a bench warrant for his immediate arrest.

In a statement, the Public Relations Officer of KAROTA, Abubakar Ibrahim Sharada, recalled that the agency recently launched the use of mobile courts to try traffic offenders on major roads and streets in the Kano metropolitan area.

He stated that the initiative was in response to the rampant violation of traffic lights and signs by motorists, tricyclists, and other road users, which has often resulted in injuries, loss of life, and property damage.
