An overzelous official of Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA) on Monday narrowly escaped being crushed by a trailer as he made dangerous attempt to arrest driver of a car believed to have committed a traffic offence along Zoo road area of Kano metropolis.
The official whose name was not immediately known was rushed to hospital by his colleagues after he was injured by a driver whom he attempted to stop. The overzelous offical dived on the bonnet of the car when he reliazed that the driver was trying to run away from them.
Kano Chronicle gathered that the driver zoomed off with traffic official glued on the bonnet.
The traffic official in question fell from the vehicle but was lucky to have survived as he was quickly rescued before he could be crushed by the trailer.
It all started like a drama as people watched him jumped on the car and held on to its bonnet in a movie like style while his colleagues gave it a hot chase in their official vehicle. He however lost his grip on the car as the driver drove faster in order to out-run other officials of the traffic control agency that were pursuing him and appeared to be catching up with him behind the Trade Fair Complex, opposite Daily Trust’s Regional office.
The man who was seen bleeding profusely from the injuries he sustained from the fatal fall while avoiding being crushed was rushed to an undisclosed hospital. The driver of the car was eventually apprehended and escorted away from the scene by men of the traffic control agency.
