Kashmir dispute: UN urged to exert influence on India

Pakistan has urged the United Nations to exert influence on India to implement all the Security Council’s resolutions on the occupied Kashmir.
In a statement issued on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, Pakistan said India is using undemocratic method to continue its illegal hold on Jammu and Kashmir.
It said India’s use of force to intimidate Kashmiris into submission has resulted in the killings of innocent lives and rendered women and children widowed and orphaned respectively.
“It is high time for the world community to take steps towards addressing this contentious problem,” the statement said. It said the supreme sacrifice of Kashmir people must be acknowledged and India should be censured for disrespecting the UN resolutions and continued human rights violations in occupied Kashmir. According to the statement, Kashmir Solidarity Day reminds the world about the urgency involved in an early resolution of the Kashmir dispute for the global peace, security and prosperity.
