The forum which draws membership from seasoned administrators, technocrats and professionals is headed by former IGP Ibrahim Coomassie as its interim chairman.
Speaking at its maiden meeting with the APC candidate Aminu Masari, the forum chairman represented by Engr. Musa Abdullahi said the forum deems it necessary to know and understand those seeking to govern the state with a view to ensuring the state gets the best from the candidates.
He said, understanding their manifestos for possible explanation to the electorate will help in making the people make choices on sound ground, noting that ”we should tell ourselves the truth and deliberately set out to be transparent to achieve the best for our collective good.”
The APC candidate, Aminu Masari said if elected his priority will be on education and agriculture which he described as the most critical needs that could be used to change the fortunes of the state.
“Katsina used to be an example for all but has now turned otherwise,” he said, adding that “lack of quality leadership has been its bane especially in the last 8 years as such we intend to change the tide,” he said .
The four gubernatorial candidates are Engr. Musa Nashuni (PDP), Aminu Masari (APC), Sen. Yakubu Lado (PDM) and Abdullahi Tsauri (APGA).
