The former First Lady of Katsina State, Hajiya Hadiza Masari has commended the launch of the Concerned Sisters Forum (CSF) an initiative fostering unity, empowerment and collaboration among women across the country.
Speaking during the inauguration and induction of new members into the forum on Saturday in Abuja, Hajiya Masari said the initiative is coming at a time when the roles of women in economic development of the country has become necessary.
According to her, the forum with the motto, “Bonding for Progress” came at a time that it is needed the most in the country.
“I strongly believe that the CSF is aimed at bringing women together, and show concern, not only to ourselves, but to other women who are not members. Because our membership cut across states, from Sokoto, Kebbi, Kano, Katsina, Nasarawa, Niger, Kaduha and other states, which means the Forum is a serious one.”
Hajiya Masari who is also a member of Board of Trustee of the forum said, “I am very sure that this is going to be a great forum that cares for the welfare of women. There are communities in which our sisters are suffering from one form of challenge to the other.”
She further stated that the initiative will go a long way to helping women overcome most of the challenges they are facing and also encourage inclusivity in governance.
On her part, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the forum, Hajia Binta Ibrahim, lauded Katsina Ex-First Lady’s impactful role in women’s development and her involvement with the National Council of Women Society.
The founder revealed that the forum was conceived following a powerful display of women’s unity at her daughter’s wedding.
According to her, “CSF was born from a simple but powerful vision, nurtured over the years that when women come together, they can achieve anything they want.”
“This is a message we are sending to the next political arena, by the special grace of God, we would see a lot of women handling positions in this country.”
“CSF stands for empowerment, capacity building, financial inclusion and support for one another as well as advocacy and collaborations.
She also encourage members to attend meetings regularly, participate in volunteerism, give feedbacks, be willing to lead and learn, adding that, CSF will succeed when all members take actions together.
