A N2.5b Memorandum of understanding (Mou) have been signed between Katsina state government and Merit Homes and Properties ltd for the construction of 500 units housing estate for civil servants in the state.
Daily Trust reports that the estate to be constructed on a 40 hectares of land at Barawa town along Batsari road is expected to be completed within 18 months.
Speaking at the event, the state Head of Service Idris Tune said government is committed to fulfilling it’s end of the bargain to ensure smooth completion of the project.
He said, all the bureaucratic bottle necks have been dealt with adding that ‘ it took almost two years for the conceptualisation and actualisation of this project which is dear to the administration.
In his remarks, the Managing director of Merit Homes and properties, Yakubu Fada said the ready is ready and committed to holding its side of the agreement noting that we assured you of timely and quality delivery of the project.
He commended the state government for agreeing to provide infrastructure in the estate which he said will go along way in reducing the cost of the houses.
