Katsina FMC now federal teaching hospital

The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Katsina has finally been converted to the Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina.

This was disclosed by the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital, Dr Suleiman B. Muhammed, while briefing journalists on Wednesday in Katsina.

Muhammed said the feat was a culmination of many years’ efforts to convert the FMC to a teaching hospital for the clinical training of medical students of Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University Katsina.

“The conversion is sequel to an earlier approval by President Muhammadu Buhari that sealed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Katsina State government on the use of Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina as a clinical training site for, medical students of the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University Katsina.

“The MoU was signed on 8th December 2020 by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Katsina State on behalf of Katsina State government and the Honourable Minister of Health, Dr Osagle Ehanire, on behalf of the federal government,” he said.
