Katsina Polo tournament kicks off

The teams mostly from Kaduna, Zaria, Bauchi, Yola and Abuja will compete in four trophies with the biggest honours being the “Nigerian Cup” followed by “General Hassan Cup”
Some notable polo players that will grace the tournament include Bello Buba, Dahiru Bagiwa, Ibrahim Abba, Hamisu Buba and Suleiman Abubakar amongst others.
The life president of the Katsina Polo Club and former Governor of old Kaduna State, Alhaji Lawal Kaita, in his opening remarks yesterday  urged the players to be law abiding throughout of the tournament in order to make it one of the best in history.
Also the Captain of the club Alhaji Dahiru Bagiwa represented by his vice said that, they have already prepared for the grand event saying that “The field is grassed cleaned, we have enough water and all the necessary materials needed”
In his remarks, the life tournament Manager who is also the Majidadin Katsina Alhaji
Abdu Usman said for this year’s tournament more concerted efforts were made to provide a secure and successful tournament. He therefore calls on the public to maintain the good name of the ancient town in the events.
