Each bag shall be sold at the cost of 1,780 Naira only.
Commencing the sales, the Governor of the state, Ibrahim Shema, said it was proper for the farmers to have this commodity before the commencement of the raining season. He said that many achievements have been recorded in the agricultural sector which included the establishment of 27 irrigation centres, purchase of 340 tractors and animal traction, adding that investing in agriculture was the best way of moving the nation forward.
He said that empowering a farmer with the right incentive would boost the nation’s economy. In his remarks, the chairman of the fertiliser distribution committee, Abubakar Abdulkarim, said the fertiliser would be sold at the ward level to enable real farmers get the commodity.
He said that for more than 7 years now, the committee has been able to distribute fertilisers without complaints from any quarters.
