The centres which are in Malumfashi, Dutsin-Ma and Daura, are to be used for smooth conduct of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination and other online registrations.
Speaking at the inauguration of one of the centres in Malumfashi, Governor Ibrahim Shema said his administration is committed to ensuring that the state is not left out as JAMB goes full-fledged on CBT mode of exams next year.
Represented by the Commissioner of Education Professor Aminu Kado, Shema said government is planning four more centres before the expiration of the present administration.
JAMB Registrar Prof, Dibu Ojerinde, said Katsina is the first state to construct three Computer Based Test Centres after the FCT.
While calling for increased efforts on computer literacy training at all levels of the nation’s educational sector, Ojerinde said there is no going back on CBT next year.
Earlier, the Special Adviser to Governor Shema on Intergovernmental Affairs, Hajiya Hadiza Hassan, said the centres were equipped with 151 computer stations, furniture, server, power generating set and other necessary gadgets, adding that the project had demonstrated the government’s commitment to uplifting education in the state.
