Kebbi State governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has said his government recently awarded a contract worth over N3billion for the rehabilitation and provision of additional facilities to primary and junior secondary schools across the state.
The governor made this known on Friday while addressing the state on the achievement of his government as part of activities to mark the democracy day in Birnin Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State.
Although the governor did not give the number of schools to benefit from the intervention, he urged the media and non-governmental organizations to assist in monitoring performance of the contractors in terms of quality.
In the health sector, Bagudu disclosed that, no fewer than 140 Primary Healthcare Centres were rehabilitated across the state, with a view to improving healthcare delivery. In education, the state government recently signed various contracts worth over N3 billion for the rehabilitation and provision of additional facilities in primary and junior secondary Schools in the state.
