Card Reader malfunction has stalled commencement of accreditation despite early arrival of official in many Polling Units visited in Zuru, Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
At the two Voting Points of Zegdari Polling Unit, thump prints of most of the voters were rejected, which necessitated the filling of Incident Form to about 60% of voters as at the time of filling this report.
Unlike the Presidential election, the governorship and state assembly exercise experienced low turn-out of voters for accreditation in most units visited.
INEC officials were also seen operating on their motorcycles due to lack of furnitures.
“We arrived here before 7am , we couldn’t get chairs and table to work on,” the Presiding Officer said.
At Sam Doro (PU008),the exercise was stalled because of the card readers display what officials called “stale voters information.”
“We have been on queu since 6am, even the INEC officials met us here, but the card reader failed because it kept displaying staled voter information. The INEC officials have gone to rectify the problem.
“We are not going anywhere until they return and commence the accreditation,”a voter Sani Usman told our correspondent.
The problem has not been rectified as at the time of filling this report.
