The secretary of the association, Alhaji Muhammad Idris, made the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi.
NAN reports that the tractors were given under the soft loan scheme of the federal government to boost food production.
Idris said the reduction in the cost of the tractors by 25 per cent would also enable the farmers to afford them.
The equipment is now being sold for N6.5 million each as against the initial cost of N8 million.
Idris said that farmers were willing to pay an initial deposit of N1.3 million and the balance would be repaid within four years.
He said farmers would abide by the stringent conditions for the loan as well as ensure prudent utilisation of the tractors.
Idris commended the SURE-P for its decision to provide 1,000 power tillers and 2,000 work bulls and accessories for farmers. (NAN)
