Kebbi flood victims get food supplies from NEMA

Presenting the items to the Kebbi State Government recently, the Head of Planning and Research, North-West zone , Hajiya Zainab Ahmed Sa’idu said the  action is to alleviate the plight of the victims.
She said the agency has handed over  150 bags of per boiled rice, 150 bags of Maize, 100 bags of Guinea corn and 100 bags of millet, similarly, 100 bags of cement, 100 bundles of roofing sheets and 100 bags of assorted roofing nails to the state government.
“The relief material is to serve as succors to enable the victims begin a new life,” she said.
The acting governor, Alhaji Ibrahim K. Aliyu while receiving the materials said the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has taken records of the victims in all the affected local government areas.
He said the intervention is a clear testimony that NEMA is discharging the duties according to the dictates of its establishment.
He said the state government is constructing news drainage with a view to avoiding the menace of flooding. Aliyu added:”Government has introduced sensitization campaigns to the general public especially those living around the river banks to relocate to a safer area.”
While thanking the agency for the quick intervention, he assured of equity in the distribution of the materials to the affected victims.
