Kebbi gov proposes N580.32bn budget for 2025

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, on Wednesday, presented a proposed budget of N580,327,469,380  for the 2025 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly.

The governor said N453bn is earmarked for capital projects, while N127 billion is allocated for recurrent expenditure.

He said the budget, tagged “Budget of Economic and Infrastructural Consolidation” aims to drive economic growth and improve infrastructure across the state and was premised on the projected revenue of N235.2bn from the Federation Account Allocation and about N26bn internally generated revenue.

He told the House that his administration plans to rehabilitate the Koko/Mahuta road with N41bn as the state’s internally generated revenue has risen by 40 per cent, from N8bn to N11bn.“We have also set aside N11bn for boreholes and electrification of some communities,” he said. 

In response, the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mohammed Samaila Bagudo, assured the governor of the legislature’s commitment to a speedy review and passage of the budget.
