The governor, while receiving a delegation of the state chapter of youth in agriculture recently in Birnin Kebbi, said the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) would provide N2 billion, while the balance will come from the state government.
“The state government will also provide 360 tractors, 2,000 work bulls and ploughs to farmers at subsidized rate. Water pumping machines will also be distributed to the farmers to boost dry season farming.
“2,000 power tillers would also be distributed to the farmers on loan and additional support would be worked out with the state chapter of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) to boost agricultural production,” the governor  said.
He urged youths in the state to embrace farming as the state had potential for dry and wet season farming.
In her remarks, chairperson of Youth in Agriculture in the state, Hajiya Rabi Zuru, said the association has registered 5,000 young farmers who had indicated their interest in poultry and fish farming.
She commended the state government for its effort at boosting farming activities, calling on youths to engage in farming.
