These questions and other sundry ones could only be determined by the Court of law if the Party machinery is unwilling to do justice to the good people of Kebbi State, as the major stockholders in this case, after all there is still law and order in this country irrespective of how some sacred cows in the PDP are seemingly disregarding it with wanton impunity.
Most worrisome in this apparent imbroglio is the fact that persons who are supposed to be promoting and protecting Party interests are the prominent conspirators in this illegal act. It is obvious and glaring that these persons are only self-serving and out rightly disinterested in the Party’s victory in 2015 elections.
The PDP National Treasurer Alhaji Buhari Bala who has not been known to garner even the support of his brothers and sisters in any past election is now championing this illegality to the extent of single-handedly fabricating or changing results of various primary elections held in Kebbi State when they reach the National Party Headquarters.
In a similar pattern, the Minister for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, who since his debut in politics has been a political Casanova, wading through five (5) different political parties in his bid to become the governor of Kebbi State though unsuccessfully, is a fellow conspirator in this abominable act.
It is therefore a marvel what the leaders of our great Party are doing to salvage this sad situation. The good people of Kebbi State know for certain who their mandate went to and they are not willing to let go through illegality, as evident in the 8th December 2014 aborted primaries during which the people’s mandate undoubtedly pointed favourably to Mansur Shehu, the erstwhile PDP State Chairman after delegates from 11 out of 21 Local Government Areas of the state had cast their votes.
The fear now raging among the PDP Party stalwarts in Kebbi State is that if hitherto prominent or trusted officials could exhibit such wanton disregard to Party internal democracy by organizing a kangaroo primary election, filling result sheets with false and predetermined results hence exhausting such forms for the bona fide results to be recorded leading to the cancellation of the process, then the Party is doomed to foreseeable disintegration.
The onus on the party leadership is therefore to either rely on these Abuja-based politicians to deliver in the forthcoming 2015 polls or depend on our teeming PDP supporters in Kebbi State to do so.
Another wonder was how Chief Omehia (former governor of Rivers State) the Chairman of the Congress sent from Abuja mishandled the conduct of the congress that eventually led to its cancellation would easily forget how he lost his own governorship seat to Chief Rotimi Amaechi in a similar scenario; one would have naturally expected him to have acted ethically, and not encourage illegality.
