The bathroom is an important part of any house or apartment. However, keeping it free from clutter and strewn objects can be very challenging. Keeping your bathroom clean involves more than just picking up objects, it requires complete attention, time and strength. To make it easier, here are some steps that need to be followed in ensuring you have a clean bathroom:
Do thorough search: Go through your cabinets. Throw out any half-used products or give them away. This is especially critical in small bathrooms where there is limited space. Check the drawers one by one, and if necessary, separate the items you want to keep and throw anything you don’t need or use anymore.
Use decorative objects: If you have a large storage space you may have some shelf space available for displaying pretty objects, like flowers, shells or even stones. If left undone, the bathroom will appear cluttered. Toilet paper rolls and stacks of towels are actually quite attractive if displayed with care.
Keep extra toilet paper within reach: The toilet paper itself is not an ugly sight therefore it should not take up space but can be kept under the sink or in bathroom cabinets. Moreover, when you keep your toilet paper easily accessible, it adds to the beauty of keeping the place neat
Always ensure that the floor is free from any object that could make you trip and fall especially when you have a little child. There should be no traces of harmful substances around.
Towels and other wet items should be hung on the shower curtain rod or alternatively, use a towel hook for towels. If your towel rack isn’t big enough to hang the family’s towels, add hooks to the bathroom. Towel hooks are inexpensive, easy to mount and create a space for each member of the family to hang their towel.
In some homes, the bathroom serves another purpose: make-up point for women. If this is the case in your home, a space should be created in your cabinet where you can store your make-up items. This is necessary to avoid an untidy bathroom. While you do this, be sure to throw away anything that smells or is expired. This is because old and stale makeup contains bacteria that can irritate your skin, when used.
The empty spaces over the toilet can be transformed. How? This is by adding a stacked cabinet to store some of those items that have been kept under the sink. Decorative containers can be used to hold cotton balls, cotton buds, cosmetic brushes and other small items you use on a daily basis.
