A tricycle rider (Keke NAPEP) has assaulted an officer of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), Toheeb Abbas, who was on an enforcement operation in the Mokola area of Ibadan.
A witness said that the OYRTMA team got to Mokola to correct illegal parking when the tricycle rider who parked in front of a commercial bank became aggressive, fought the officers and injured Abbas and left him soaked in his blood.
The witness added that two suspects were arrested in connection with the incident.
The Chairman of OYRTMA, Major Adekoya Adesagba (Rtd), who condemned the assault, said, “Attacking our officers is equivalent to fighting the government’s efforts to ensure public safety and protect lives and property.

“The perpetrators will face the full weight of the law,” adding that, “We will continue in our efforts to maintain law and order on the roads despite the challenges.”
