In a significant move for alcohol policy advocacy in Nigeria, Kenneth Anetor has been elected as the National Vice Chairman of the Association of Advocates Against Alcohol Harm in Nigeria (ASAAHN).

The election which brought together key stakeholders committed to addressing the growing challenges of alcohol abuse and policy regulation in the country.

ASAAHN, a coalition of over 50 civil society organizations (CSOs) spanning the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, is at the forefront of advocating for stricter alcohol policies and public awareness on alcohol-related harm. Kenneth Anetor’s election is expected to bring a new level of dynamism and strategic focus to the coalition’s mission.

Amb. Kenneth Anetor is no stranger to leadership and advocacy. A well-known philanthropist, he co-founded A New Thing International Foundation, a non-governmental organization recognized for its impactful work in health advocacy, poverty alleviation, and youth empowerment.

Over the years, Anetor has demonstrated his ability to create lasting change. His foundation’s upcoming documentary, “The Power of Prevention,” marking its 10th anniversary, reflects his belief in tackling societal issues at their root. From empowering underserved communities to promoting preventive health measures, Anetor’s contributions have earned him widespread respect.

As the new National Vice Chairman, Kenneth Anetor will work alongside other executives to advance ASAAHN’s goal of reforming alcohol policies in Nigeria. His wealth of experience in advocacy and grassroots mobilization is expected to enhance the coalition’s influence and effectiveness.

Other elected National Executives of
the association include; Nwokocha Chijioke as  National Chairman, Olubukola A. Omosanya as National General Secretary and Ikenna Daniel Molobe as National Treasurer and Charles Chibuzor Chiejina as National Assistant Secretary.
