The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the release of a brother to the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and his wife reportedly kidnapped on Monday along Kabba-Oshokoshoko-Obajana road.

Spokesman of the Command, William Aya, who confirmed this to Daily Trust, yesterday, said operatives of the command have since stepped up surveillance and patrol across the Kabba-Oshokoshoko-Obajana axis, adding that three kidnapping attempts were foiled by security operatives on Tuesday.

Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole, had on Tuesday confirmed the kidnap,  adding that the victims were abducted on Monday by gunmen who appeared in army and police uniforms and later demanded ransom.
