The joint operatives of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) and the Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (Ochabrigade) have rescued a kidnapped victim in Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.
According to a report released by the Southeast Zonal Commander of the NHFSS, ACG Mark Okem Okonkwo, the victim was rescued on Saturday.
He said that while the Catholic church parishes in the Nimo community were praying for their departed souls, kidnappers took advantage of the situation to abduct a building engineer, Chukwunonso Nzekwe, from Attani Achi in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, who is based in Asaba, Delta State.
The report indicates that he was taken to Agu Urukwelora village in Egbengwu Ojideleke Nimo.

In a swift response, Obinyeluaku and other officers arrested one of the kidnappers, identified as Sunday Samela from Nasarawa State, who resides in Enugwu Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area.
His accomplices managed to escape after a serious gun battle.
The victim was rescued, and a locally made gun was recovered from the suspect.
