Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested four suspected kidnappers who had allegedly collected N4 million from their victims in the state.
The command’s spokesman, Edafe Bright, said the suspects were arrested during a stop and search by the police on the road.
According to him, the suspects kidnapped a woman using a wooden AK-47 rifle from her house and whisked her into the bush where they negotiated a ransom of N4 million.
He said the woman spent four days in captivity and was only released after the payment of the ransom.
He said the police intercepted the vehicle the suspects were travelling in during a stop-and-search, and in the process, N3 million was recovered from them.
Bright said during interrogation, the suspects confessed that the money was part of the N4 million they collected from a woman as ransom.
He said the victim identified the suspects as those who kidnapped her and collected N4 million ransom.
