The Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW)‎, Kaduna, Adamu Muhammed Abaji, has said that the union lost five drivers to kidnappers this year in Buruku along Birnin Gwari-Kaduna highway. Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna, yesterday, the chairman said some of their drivers sustained gunshot injuries while trying to escape kidnappers and armed robbers along the highway. He said, “We recently held a meeting with Yakubu Soja head of Operation Yaki outfit and also visited the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army headquarters to plead with them on ways to provide more security along our highways.”
