Kidnappers of a former Chairman of the Akure North Local Government Area, Mr Dele Fagoriola, who was kidnapped at the weekend, had contacted the family demanding a ransom of N10 million to secure his release.

A family source confirmed that the kidnappers contacted the family members on phone yesterday.

Fagoriola was said to have been kidnapped in his farm along the Ikere-Akure road on Friday morning by a gang of seven gunmen.

The Ondo State police command spokesman, Femi Joseph, disclosed that policemen from the state command in Akure had been deployed to the farm to commence investigation and track down the criminals.
