Kidnapping is an act of terror

There’s no difference between abduction for ransom, abuse, molestation, vendetta, blackmail with terrorism. What is terror if not to instigate a feeling of extreme fear? The victims of kidnapping are tortured, threatened, beaten, deprived, molested, abused and killed directly or indirectly. The pain of kidnapping is not restricted to the victim’s family alone rather the entire society suffers from the shock.
Families are traumatised when their loved ones are whisked away by criminals who demand ransom. The neighbours, professional colleagues and friends become terrified with the abduction of a familiar person.  Recently Chibok girls marked two years in captivity, no doubt the video clip released by the insurgents was for us to remain in constant fear and pain. For sure, abduction is worse form of terror.
