Kidnapping is very difficult to prevent with the use of technological devices, a security expert, Mr Andries Nouwens, has said.
Following the recent increase in kidnapping in the country, some have said the security agents should use tech devices to tame the crime.   
But Mr Nouwens, who is the Bosch Security System’s Regional Director, Africa and Middle East, said in an interview with journalists after a science and tech security summit in Abuja that there is no ready-made devices that could stop kidnappers from carrying out their dastardly act. 
He however said intelligent cameras could be installed in some strategic places to monitor movement of people.
“Kidnapping is very difficult to prevent with devices and equipment. We can of course mount cameras to observe how people are behaving on the streets. But it is difficult for devices to stop or prevent people from being taken from the streets”, he said.
Earlier in his presentation, Mr Nouwens had said Bosch spent more than 35billion Euro on Research and Development (R&D) in the last 10 years in order to produce up to date security equipment.
He also said the company recorded total sales of 1.5bn Euro last year in all its operations across the world.
He disclosed that Bosch has plans to employ more Nigerians and train many others “very soon”.
